Why Do People Who Feel More Hubristic Pride Tend to Be More Prejudiced?

Hubristic pride, otherwise known as arrogance, false pride, or conceitedness, is associated with a reduced capacity for empathic concern for others, which in turn leads people to show more prejudice toward stigmatized others.
