  1. Rick Perry just acknowledged that either a) he’s breaking the law in Texas or b) he’s trying to do so. According to Edwards v. Aguillard (1987), the teaching of Creationism in public schools violates the First Amendment of the Constitution. As a proud Texan (in exile), I wish that my fellow countrymen would both follow the law and common sense: Creationism is not science and evolution is not an “idea that’s out there”…it’s a powerful and fertile theory with great predictive potential and enormous explanatory power.

The theory of evolution by natural selection explains much about this fact. I do not ” believe in ” evolution “, but accept the evidence for both fact and theory.
