To those who declare that there must be some sort of "understanding" between the "faithful" and the "evolutionists": the laws of the universe do not hold your beliefs in any regard whatsoever, and trying to force us to believe they do is evil and detrimental to our society. The universe will go about its merry indifferent way regardless of what you choose to try to force on the rest of us. It doesn't care if your frakking feelings are hurt or if you are offended. Science is science.

There is NO "controversy" over evolution, it is entirely made up by those who insist that the laws of science must conform to their beliefs (read: religious right-wing wackos). There are no "two sides to the issue". There is, in fact, no "issue". Facts completely support the theory of evolution. Absence of facts which "fill in the gaps" for specific periods does not require us to acknowledge the completely-invalidated "theory" intelligent design.

People of "religion" who insist upon forcing their views onto everyone else, get this straight: "science" does not need to be "reconciled" against religion. People who insist that the Constitutional requirement to keep religion out of government and public education is "fascism" are, in fact, the worst kind of fascists. Stop trying to force your religious views on us in lieu of science. Stop trying to force "science" to reconcile itself with your inhibited views. Get out of my government. Get out of the public classroom. Stay out of the science classroom, public or private.

Fortunately, most religious people acknowledge these extremely basic facts. Those who do not, who insist that "this nation was created as a Xtian nation", who insist that Xtianity has rights over all others, are wackos who deserve no respect or even acknowledgement. Somehow, people find themselves fighting such nutjobs anyway, arguing to prevent a "theory" (which has been proven in court to have absolutely no merit whatsoever) from being forced into the public education system. How and why do such people get into the position which allows them such power? This must stop. Or fascism WILL follow.

OMFFG.

Fascism? For claiming that the "Christian alternative" (not the Budhist, or Hindu, or, God forbid, Muslim alternative) should be kept out of the SCIENCE classroom?

Oh, but he's Irish. So am I. And when I get mad at work, I get sent to the corporate version of the principal's office, HR.

Let me ask bluntly - are there REALLY people out there who honestly believe that Xtianity should be forced on the general US populace? Really? Really really REALLY? For real? Serious?

Don't answer that. Please.
